When Leonard asks Penny out initially, she rejects him, saying he's too smart for her. However, this reason is put to the test when she falls for the hunky experimental physicist, David.
With David's towering height, bulging physique, and rugged looks, you would never think this guy was a mega-geek who obsessed about dark matter and energy positrons. Since he's a master skier, collects vintage motorcycles, and plays in a rock band, you can see why Penny agrees to date him. When asked if she's interested in physics, Penny insists she is "The Queen of the Nerds", much to Leonard's dismay. Sadly, the whole thing falls apart when she learns David is married.
He only made one appearance so it's easy to forget about this sexy geek. However, David is an interesting guy since he causes Penny to showcases a more hypocritical side of her, which Leonard calls her out on. Although Lenny acted like Penny was perfect and unobtainable, this incident proved she was just as flawed and insecure as anyone else.
