In a bid to stay true to realism, the show's producers brought in UCLA Physics professor Dr. David Saltzberg to be the on-set science consultant responsible for checking the accuracy and current-nature of the research, calculations, and the show in general.

For this purpose, every white board you see on the screen (of which there are many) comes from a scientific standpoint, not just random combinations of letters and numbers thrown together for the show. Scripts are even sent to Dr. Saltzberg with 'insert science here' spaces ready to drop jargon straight in there. However, there's something different about the board above.
