The Big Bang Theory 6.5, “The Holographic Excitation” - Review, Analysis, Discussion
The big news this week comes from Penny and Leonard and the progression of their relationship. I know many of you are tired of this on-again, off-again situation, but I think its worth noting that all of us as fans owe it to ourselves to recognize how far theyve come and the fact that theyve finally turned the corner. This relationship is about to come full circle, and its due in large part to Penny finally taking the time to become invested in Leonards life outside of the apartment. While we can assume that this will lead to some issues of identity for her in future episodes, for now shes taking the leap and giving in to her feelings for Leonard and this helps bring their relationship to a new level. By taking the time to learn about Leonards career, Penny is reminded of why she fell for him in the first place: his brains. All the scenes in this weeks episode with these two were fantastic, and kudos to the writers for finally taking on the challenge of fixing this relationship. As a fan, I found that this weeks episode showcased the program in peak form. It was witty, heartfelt, full of science, and consisted of scenes primarily composed of all our couples growing their love for each other and giving us many laughs along the way. That leaves us with Raj as Indian Jones and Stewart as, I believe, The Mad Hatter (fitting since he hosted the party), and while they felt like an afterthought this week, both characters were still very funny. We also had a funny turn with Buzz Aldrin handing out candy to some kids and discussing how he was an astronaut and spent time in space, ala Howard Wolowitz. The show really seems to be hitting on all cylinders, and I cant wait to see what next week brings. How about you, fellow TBBT fans? Lets discuss, argue, and laugh together.
