The Big Bang Theory: How Well Do You Remember Season Five?
With space travel, weddings and a tonne of Star Trek cameos, it was another fine form of episodes!
Season five of The Big Bang Theory further built on some of the branching storylines introduced in the preceding season, making for another strong run of episodes.
We got to see more of Amy and Sheldon's developing relationship (while still feeling astounded Sheldon Cooper had a girlfriend), witnessed the joy of Bernadette and Howard's union and buzzed as Leonard and Penny finally rekindled their romance, followed by a fantastic finale in which the group watched one of their closest friends blast off into outer space.
It's at this point we really start to see the show moves away from its nerd-focused roots, with more and more personal storylines coming through, even if it does still keep its lovable sci-fi jokes at the show's core. It makes for a good balance and also allowed the show to really branch into the mainstream at the time of its initial airing.
