For 12 years, we followed the dysfunctional but ultimately loving relationship between flatmates and co-workers, Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper. From expeditions, scientific papers and pranks to a whole lot of weekly takeaways, the two geniuses shared many hilarious and memorable moments together throughout the 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory. It takes a special kind of person to withstand Sheldon's house rules and inconvenient tendencies but Leonard was up to the task, albeit with one or two arguments and outbursts along the way.

With IQ's of 173 and 187, they may just be the smartest duo in Pasadena, which goes some way for making up for their terrible social awareness and skills. Given their intelligence, it's perhaps surprising how often the duo land themselves in brilliantly awkward situations. How could we forget Sheldon in jail and Leonard's day of hell in the itchy jumper?
