Penny was the very first female character to appear on The Big Bang Theory. She was cute, funny and convinced she was going to make it as an actress. After only appearing in commercials and the odd low budget movie, she eventually found a new career in pharmaceuticals. This was largely down to former work colleague and BFF, Bernadette Wolowitz.
Bernadette fist appeared in season three, working alongside Penny at The Cheesecake Factory. Penny reluctantly set her up on a blind date with her "friend" Howard Wolowitz and, well, the rest is history.
Then came Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon's only match on his online dating profile. It became clear very quickly that these two were meant for each other. Naturally, she became very close friends with the other girls in the social group and so became Penny's Posse.
