The Boys: Every Episode Ranked Worst To Best
13. Nothing Like It In The World (Season 2, Episode 4)
Nothing Like it in the World is a road-trip episode, following Hughie, Annie and MM as they look into the mystery of the long-lost superhero Liberty. On the open road, Annie and MM finally get a chance to bond, and Hughie gets a chance to atone for his actions in season one, officially reconciling with Annie and giving the show one of its most wholesome moments.
The episode gives more insight into Stormfront, who up until this point has proven to be a violent, evil but still ambiguous character, and allows Annie the chance to shine outside of the Seven and their constant terror and drama.
The Boys is great when toning things down for a more character-driven adventure, and Nothing Like It drives that home without fault. Frenchie is high as a kite; Kimiko is vengeful as hell; and MM gives some insight into why he's part of The Boys as Homelander teeters on the edge of insanity. Not as action-packed or daring as others in the show, but tension at its finest all the same, and a necessary plot-driver.
