The Boys Season 2: 10 Shocking Comic Moments That Must Happen

6. Superheroes In War

Homelander The Boys
Dynamite Entertainment

One of the most unique things about The Boys is the honest way in which it looks at how superheroes would have worked in an actual practical history of the world. Would superheroes have been involved in WW2? Unmistakably.

Would they have just immediately known exactly how to operate in a military environment with zero experience? No chance in hell.

This is exactly what makes the war scenes in the series so entirely engaging. Between showing the bloody human cost of sending out metahuman troops who don't know how to do things like avoid fighter jets, to the difficulties that commanding these people as a regular person would present, The Boy's cartoonish violence manages to encapsulate the somewhat grim realities that such a situation would genuinely contain.

The history of the series has not yet been touched upon in the show yet, but that only means it can have all the more of a punch when it does.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
