The CW are developing two TV series with supernatural themes for next year, according to
New York Magazine, all masterminded by former staffwriters on Joss Whedon projects. The first pilot is based on the
Secret Circle books by Vampire Diaries's author L.J Smith, adapted by
Elizabeth Craft and
Sarah Fain (Dollhouse, The Vampire Diaries), about a girl who moves to Salem and discovers she's a witch. The second is
Chloe, by
Marti Noxon (Buffy, Mad Men) and
Dawn Parouse (Prison Break, Tru Calling), about a dead female con artist who returns from heaven as a "Divine Covert Operator" (or angel, to you and me).
