The Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 10 Biggest Takeaways From Episode One

1. Fans Already Hate The New Captain America

After the first episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the new Captain America has enjoyed mere seconds of screen time, zero lines of dialogue, yet has still managed to become one of the most hated characters in the history of the MCU.

John Walker's name hasn't even been mentioned save for in the closing credits of episode one, but fans are so loyal to Sam Wilson that all it has taken for them to turn on the man the government has already deemed better than him is to look down the camera and smile.

Steve Rogers didn't give his shield to Sam because they were friends, he passed it on along with his blessing to continue the Captain America legacy because he was the best man for the job. What John Walker and the Department of Defence have done is an insult to both Steve, Sam, and the United States of America.

Of course, there are still five episodes to go in the series, and Wyatt Russell's character is sure to have plenty more screen time, but it will take a simply herculean effort for him to win around the fans after taking Sam's shield from him.
