The Fall Season 3: 5 Reasons We Can't Wait For The Show's Return
The Fall returns to our screens this week, and we cannot wait for its conclusion.
The Fall created a buzz among fans and critics when it first hit our TV screens back in 2013. Gillian Anderson's return to the small screen was glorious and Jamie Dornan had yet to step into Mr Grey's shoes, instead bringing us his chilling portrayal of Paul Spector, the psychotic mouse in Allan Cubitt's cat and mouse crime drama.
Season two finished with a huge cliffhanger as writers left viewers unsure whether Spector would survive and be brought to justice.
And with Jamie Dornan’s meteoric rise since his starring role in Fifty Shades, many were left wondering whether he would even return to complete the story.
But with the actor confirmed earlier this year, we can be sure he will pull through and all that remains to be seen is whether he will face the justice system or will he use more of his tricks and deceit to escape Stella’s grasp once more.
While season two split opinion as the plot twists became more elaborate, one thing is certain. Its climax left us dying to know how the chase was going to end and, after more than a year's wait, we finally get to find out.
5. The Cliffhanger
When Paul Spector orchestrated a search party for his latest victim left in the woods, there was an unmistakable sense of foreboding and the show's knife-edge tension was at its highest.
Thuggish Jimmy Tyler was also in the hunt to exact his own brand of justice on Spector who was now cuffed to DS Tom Anderson (Merlin's Colin Morgan) while Stella Gibson desperately tried to save Rose from the killer's depraved treatment.
Everything was falling horrifyingly into place and we could only sit and watch it all unfold.
As the season came to a close, Stella was cradling a wounded Spector, DS Anderson also took a bullet and Rose was lifted into the back of an ambulance clinging to what life she had left.
The BBC have confirmed that the new series will pick up immediately where it left us so we won't have to wait much longer to find out what happens next.
