9. What Will Happen To Iris?
Iris' investigation into Joseph Carver's corrupt scheming with Black Hole led her to his darkest secret. That secret was none other than the Mirrorverse: An alternate dimension in which his wife Eva McCulloch was trapped while he took over her company.
Iris' bond with Eva quickly fell away when she discovered that the scorned wife was plotting to exact revenge on her husband and ultimately needed Iris - or her evil reflection - to make that happen. And, to cut a long story short, she successfully executed her plan, leaving Iris behind as she returned to her home dimension.
However, as we saw through Eva's behaviour, a long time spent in the Mirrorverse can have disastrous consequences on your state of mind, and it's clear that Iris is beginning to experience neural dissonance as she continues to connect with the reflective dimension. And it's affected her to such an extent that in the closing moments of the finale, she screamed in pain before disappearing entirely.
Has Iris succumbed to the Mirrorverse, or is this just another example of her connection to it? An interesting development no doubt, but one that will hopefully lead to her, Kamilla and Singh's escape.
