The Flash: 7 Best Episodes So Far
1. Out Of Time (Season 1, Episode 15)
Written By: Todd Helbing & Aaron Helbing
Directed By: Thor Freudenthal
The first part of Out Of Time plays out like any other Flash episode. A new metahuman appears, albeit one with very stunning powers, and Barry fights to stop him. Then, out of nowhere, the episode buckles down and races towards an insane conclusion befitting of a season finale.
Wells finally reveals himself to Cisco, letting him know that he’s really Eobard Thawne and that he comes from the future. Then, before he can protest, Wells remorsefully kills Cisco in one of the most heartbreaking scenes the series has ever put together.
Then, as Barry tries to stop the Weather Wizard from unleashing an incredible looking tsunami on the city, he’s forced to reveal his identity to Iris. While we’re still trying to process all of the amazing story developments, Barry runs so fast that he breaks the time barrier and returns to a day prior, restoring most of what we’ve seen.
This episode succeeds above all others because it most embraced the essence of the comic books. It doesn’t try to be realistic and is instead fun, over-the-top and moving all at once. That’s to say nothing of the mind-blowing facts that it introduced time travel to the mythology and revealed Harrison’s true identity.
