Martin Stein didn't appear all that often because it turned out that he was being prepped for his much larger role on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but in the short space of time that he did, he found himself learning to appreciate the minds of young people in a way that he never thought he ever would - none more so than his 'other half' Ronnie Raymond.
Fused together to become Firestorm, Stein and Ronnie became the most unlikely of dream teams, and it was this that ultimately led to them learning interesting things about themselves and each other. And only by merging together could they iron out their differences.
Stein found himself drawn to everyone on Team Flash, just as they were drawn to him and it's a shame that we didn't get to see him share a few more special moments with Barry, Caitlin and Cisco. Nonetheless, Victor Garber delivered one of his finest performances as the character - both here and on Legends.
