Over the past five years, Barry Allen has evolved from a bullied little boy with a big heart who just wasn't fast enough to a masked superhero with an even bigger heart and fast legs. He was a hero long before he ever gained super-speed, and his overwhelming desire to protect people still remains strong to this day.
He has fought the most evil of threats that the Arrowverse has to offer, failed and then returned stronger to defeat them. He has inspired a city full of metahumans to use their abilities for good while reminding the millions watching at home that we all have it within us to be a superhero. Heck, he even made the broody Green Arrow see things in a more positive light.
Perhaps the most well-developed character in the entire Arrowverse, Barry Allen is the heart and soul of The Flash - and none of that would have been possible without Grant Gustin's incredibly infectious performance.
