The Flash: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

8. Eddie Thawne

The Flash Cisco Wells
The CW

For the most part, Eddie's presence in the first season was predicated on two things: First, being one-third of the obligatory love triangle, and two, giving a mystery as to how he would tie in with the other big Thawne on the show, Eobard. It was hard not to like Eddie, who actually was a pretty good guy, but with more interesting events frequently occurring around Team Flash, taking time out for Eddie/Iris drama tended to slow things down.

In contrast to all of the other characters, Eddie himself wasn't really fleshed out, but the things we did get to know about him - his noble nature and likable attitude, for instance - did at least make his ultimate decision to sacrifice his life to erase Eobard from existence effective. His feelings for Iris seemed genuine, and that his final act and moments on the show reinforced the fact he was a good guy through and through served the character and left a lasting impression no one, whether it's the characters or the fans, will soon forget.
