The Flash: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
6. Iris West
The show's insistence on the love triangle and keeping Iris out of the loop in season one was somewhat of a disservice to her character, as the built-in knowledge that, eventually, both of those things would no longer be there lent the whole thing a sense of just wanting to get it over with already so Iris herself could move beyond those things as a character. And clearly, that was true, as season two saw Iris really stepping up and becoming a part of the team, the show no longer forced to find reasons to keep her in the dark.
In contrast to a certain other Arrowverse love interest, Iris - particularly in season two - was a breath of fresh air, still understandably sad over the loss of Eddie, but one whose full support of Barry made her incredibly endearing. She rarely complains and is always there for Barry, her dad, and even the team. Though seeing her finally come to the realization by season's end that she does, in fact, love Barry was satisfying, the simple fact that she's a proactive character less interested in generating drama than she is in doing right by her friends and family is something worth being happy about.
