The Flash: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
4. Joe West
To say that the series often wears its heart on its sleeve would be an understatement. The dynamics between any variation of the characters are its lifeblood, but the fact that the show has no qualms about slowing things down for them to actually talk is part of its charm, and arguably no relationship on the show between main characters has proven just how much heart the show truly has than that between Barry and his adoptive father.
The best aspects of Joe West stem from his full awareness that he's not Barry's biological father and that, despite that, his love for Barry extends beyond that fact, his balancing act between supporting Barry's actions as The Flash and wanting to protect his son making the character so relatable. So many great moments, whether they simply be fun or incredibly emotional, have arisen from the dynamic between Joe and Barry, and with Barry now having lost two parents, hopefully Joe and all that he brings to the show won't be following in their footsteps anytime soon.
