It was said a while back that Zoom was obsessed with other speedsters, and wanted to be the only one left. That was why he was intent on getting rid of Barry, and the assumption was that he was sending metahumans through the breach to do his dirty work for him. Now, though, the real reason has been revealed. He's deliberately testing Barry, making him get stronger, so that when he does steal his speed and kill him, he gets more power. As Wells puts it: "Fattening him up like a Christmas goose." With many theories flying around about Zoom and why he's interested in Barry, is that really it? Presumably there's still a bigger reveal to come, and that there's more to his plan than simply getting him stronger so there's more speed to steal.
