The Flash Season 2: 10 Big Questions After The Mid-Season Finale
10. How Will Wally Fit In?
Iris finally tells Joe the secret she's been carrying for a good few episodes now, namely that he has a son. Joe handles it in typical Joe manner, a mix of sadness and regret with a willingness to do the right thing by his child, and once again Jesse L. Martin proves to be the heart of this show, and I'm not sure anyone in the cast comes close to him when in terms of selling emotional drama. At the end of the episode, just as the festivities are really getting underway at the West household, there's a knock on the door, and there stands Wally West. Joe invites him inside (because it's Joe), but that's all we get of this first meeting between newfound family members. How will Wally fit in with his father, sister, and the rest of the group? Is he going to become a permanent member? And, of course, there's also the little matter of him becoming Kid Flash at some point (although given he's only a couple of years young than Barry, they might need a new nickname).
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
