The Flash Season 2: 7 Theories On The Man In The Iron Mask's Identity

5. Earth-2 Wally West

In the initial shot we got of the MitIM, it did look as though he may be a black character, based on his hands at least.

The follow-up, showing him from behind and slightly above, seemingly debunked that, as he looked like a white, blonde guy. If it is a black character though, then there's only one on the show who would fit: Wally West.

We've already seen Joe's doppelgänger, and it wouldn't make much sense for it to be John Diggle. That's not to say it would necessarily make a load of sense for it to be Wally, but more than those guys. And there could be some logic behind it.

Wally West is supposed to be a speedster after all, but so far hasn't received his powers, even after the particle accelerator explosion. We also haven't seen his Earth-2 doppelgänger, adding a layer of mystery to things. If they want to introduce a Wally West who is the Flash (or Kid Flash) without doing it on Earth-1 just right, then this would be a way around it, and maybe explain the man in the mask's reaction when he saw Wally locked up.

Why would he tap out Jay? Well, it's the name of his captor, or at least the name he uses. It'd be a twist too, though one of the things counting against it is that Wally isn't an established enough character yet to really pull it off.
