The Flash Season 2: 7 Theories On Zoom's True Identity

1. Barry Allen

Speaking of convoluted theories, could Barry Allen's biggest enemy this year be... Barry Allen?! The beauty of having alternate dimensions means that this idea isn't actually all that crazy (ok, it's still a little crazy). The comics feature a storyline which sees Wally West die, with Barry unable to save him. This leads to Barry becoming more unstable, and travelling through time in order to stop himself. When Barry travelled through the Speed Force in the Season 1 finale, there was a quick glimpse of him in jail, meaning that he seemingly commits a crime either in the future or in an alternate dimension. Could this be the Barry who's coming to fight, er, Barry. Grant Gustin teased new powers for his character at San Diego Comic-Con, stating that they involved "lightning." From what we've seen of Zoom so far there are blue lightning-like bolts around him, which aside from that relevance also suggest a connection to the Speed Force itself, much like the character Zoom has. So, could Zoom really be Barry from an alternate dimension, whose failures have driven him crazy and turned him evil, set on a collision course with himself? Is Grant Gustin going to be fighting Grant Gustin? It's crazy, but it just might work.
