The Flash Season 2: 8 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Last Dinosaur'

9. Jason Mewes' Cameo

The Flash Season 2 Episode 21 The Good Dinosaur
The CW

What would a Kevin Smith project be without the inclusion of longtime Smith BFF, Jason Mewes?

Given how Mewes, like Smith, is a lifelong comic book nerd, it would’ve been just plain cruel for Kev not to include his bestest buddy here in some form.

Chances are, if you’re a fan of The Flash in general, that means you’re likely a fan of comic books and also of the work of Kevin Smith. The three kind of all mix together wonderfully well, with Smith so often wearing his comic book roots loud and proud in his work; something that has revered him to many a fanboy.

So, for fans of Smith, comics, and The Flash to see Mewes pop up in The Good Dinosaur was a great moment and a nice touch from the director. Additionally, Mewes also played a masked villain during the episode's final moments; the guy all in black in the top left corner of the group.

The appearance of Mewes was very much a Kevin Smith stamp on the episode yet it didn’t take away anything from the show as a whole or feel too forced.
