The Kid is alright.

When Wally West was introduced in The Flash's second season, it seemed like it would just be a matter of time before he suited up and received speedster powers of his own, much like his comics counterpart.

Although it didn't happen quite as quickly as people might've expected, The CW have now confirmed that Kid Flash will be arriving in Central City in Season 3, and released a couple of pictures showing Keiynan Lonsdale donning the suit (which you can check out in full below).

Admittedly it looks pretty cool, and with the half-yellow, half-red colour scheme is erring about as close to the traditional comics outfit as fans could've hoped for.

The question remaining is just how Wally makes the transformation and gains his powers. Although he was blasted by the particle accelerator last year, there was no sign of him having any powers, although they could just be taking a while to manifest.

The alternative is that this is a result of Barry messing with the timelines. He went back and saved his mother, kickstarting Flashpoint, and in that alternate reality it may be that Wally is already a speedster.
