The Flash Season 4: The Thinker Revealed As New Main Villain

At least, we *think* it's him...

At last, The Flash is getting a main villain who ISN'T just another speedster.

As has been expected for a few months now, the Big Bad of Season 4 is set to be Clifford DeVoe, better known as The Thinker (via TV Line). It's no real surprise, because DeVoe was mentioned towards the end of Season 3 by Abra Kadabra as one of the Flash's greatest villains: "There’s Thawne, Zoom, DeVoe… but none of them hurt you like Savitar," the villain-from-the-future told Barry.

Then, in the Season 3 finale, Savitar himself mentioned DeVoe. When Barry questioned him about it, the response was: "You haven’t gotten there yet."

Well, now we know when we will be getting there, though the question remains over whether he'll actually be facing off against Barry, given the small matter of the events in Finish Line.

The Thinker is one of the classic villains from Flash's (rather brilliant) rogues gallery. A lawyer-turned-supervillain, he possesses genius intellect rather than super strength, which he uses to mastermind criminal activity while also possessing the abilities of mind control and telekinesis. It's a big shift for the series, which has had a speedster Big Bad in each of its three seasons so far, but definitely a welcome one in order to freshen things up.
