The Flash Season 5: 6 Ups & 1 Down From ‘Blocked’

Downs...

1. Gypsy Is Not The Love Of Cisco's Life

The Flash Cisco Ramon S5
The CW

While it was nothing short of wonderful to see Cisco receiving some much-needed attention, the conclusion that he reached during his emotional crisis was rather disappointing for fans of his relationship with Gypsy. Speaking with Caitlin, he claimed that his fellow breacher wasn't the love of his life because she was no longer in it. Now, while breakups are a natural part of life, this doesn't change the fact that losing Gypsy is a major blow to the character.

Since The Flash began, Cisco has been that unfortunate guy with a big heart that, when he falls for someone, he falls deeply. Up to this point, he had been romantically linked with both Hawkgirl and the villainous Lisa Snart/Golden Glider, however, none of those relationships came close to matching what he had with Gypsy.

As a pair, they were nothing short of perfect together. Though they possessed similar abilities, they had quite different personalities: he was gentle and emotional while she was empowered and, on the surface, emotionless. But they each managed to bring out the best in each other, and it didn't take long for them to become one of the Arrowverse's most endearing pairings.

Losing Gypsy not only takes that dynamic away from Cisco, it takes this rich character away from The Flash - and that is a major loss. Let's hope it's only a temporary one.
