While 'Success Is Assured' was never meant to serve as the finale, it seems that it was due to serve as the finale for Danielle Panabaker - who was pregnant during the filming of the latest batch of episodes. Thus, this storyline had been constructed as a means of writing her character out.

Ironically, it appears that she may never have needed such a formal temporary exit because not only did the episodes she was due to miss not take place, with the uncertainty over filming right now, The Flash's typical production restart in July may end up being delayed, And with that in mind, the actress may be ready to resume at the same time that the show is (whenever that may be).
