The Flash Season 6: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

Which Flash characters made it to the finish line this year, and which ones couldn't keep up?

With Arrow's departure at the beginning of the year, The Flash officially became the Arrowverse's longest-running show. Deep in the heart of its sixth season when its parent show bowed out, the long-running series once again began experiencing some familiar highs that it hadn't seen in quite some time.

Yes, the truth is that Season 6 of The Flash was something of a renaissance for the show, figuring out a way to balance multiple major storylines (thanks to the input of new showrunner Eric Wallace) as it told two separate tales within its overall story. So the Scarlet Speedster ended up taking on the likes of Bloodwork and a new deadlier Mirror Master - not to mention overcoming the Crisis On Infinite Earths - all in a single year. Not bad, Barry Allen.

One other thing that it also managed to do - perhaps better than it ever has - was juggle its ever-growing line-up of heroes and villains. That's right, for the first time in a long time, the show did a mostly bang-up job of giving even its recurring characters some spotlight. However, it wasn't entirely successful. Let's find out who sped to victory and who, well, didn't...

16. Joseph Carver

The Flash Killer Frost
The CW

For the longest of times, Joseph Carver was as one-dimensional as bad guys come. Yup, the CEO of McCulloch Tech derived such pleasure from his villainy that he literally became the stereotypical villain - to such an extent that, at one point, he sat in his lavish house drinking scotch while threatening the police captain's family just because he could.

In a show as adventurous as The Flash - a show that has produced some brilliantly-characterised villains in the past - that kind of 'I've been expecting you, Mr. Bond' villainy just ain't gonna cut it. And by the time the writers realised that, and began adding layers to his character, it was too late.
