The Flash Season 6 Review: 5 Ups & 2 Downs From 'A Girl Named Sue'

Downs...

2. Cecile The Comic

The Flash S5 Cecile Horton
The CW

Unlike last week's offering, much of the episode's central arc was a resounding success. That didn't, however, allow it to escape from one or two little issues.

Cecile Horton's in-your-face attempts to get in on the action with Ralph were rather hilarious, and Dani Nicolet performs that role with the larger-than-life presence of a professional comedian, but it's becoming increasingly clear that the show is relying on the character for comic relief... and little else.

Cecile is a strong and engaging character, but it would be nice to see the show continue to delve into her desires to help metahumans through her practice, her relationship with Joe and her family itself, rather than using her as a comedic crutch full of one-liner cameos.
