The Flash Season 6 Review: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Marathon'

4. Oliver's Gift To Barry

The Flash Season 6 Barry Allen John Diggle
The CW

As nice as it was to see Arrow's David Ramsey reprise his role as John Diggle, it was his purpose on the show that made his appearance all the more meaningful. Showing up in Central City, the Emerald Archer's long-time friend gifted Barry with Oliver Queen's iconic green mask - a token from one hero to another.

A gesture like this would have made sense at any time because Barry was Oliver's very first successor of sorts as an Arrowverse hero, but given the history between the pair, this one's got a little extra special value to it. Yes, long before he was The Flash, Barry was the one who suggested that Oliver wear a mask on his Green Arrow-themed escapades in order to conceal his identity - even going so far as to make him one as a Christmas present.

In a way, this was the moment their bond was formed, so it was only fitting that Oliver had that gift returned to him as a keepsake following his demise. A tasteful gift and a full-circle moment between superheroes.
