The Handmaid's Tale Season 2: 8 Ups And 2 Downs From 'First Blood'

1. Ofglen's Revenge

The Handmaid's Tale Ofglen
Hulu

It was revealed several episodes ago that Ofglen had her tongue cut out for being the first one to speak up during the stoning ceremony.

Another example of how cruel Gilead can be, Ofglen attended Offred's special breakfast this week, as organised by Serena, but she was unable to communicate with any of her fellow handmaids, which made it hard not to feel sorry for the young woman.

But Ofglen got her sweet revenge at the episode's close, and it was one of the greatest moments this wonderful series has bestowed on us so far. The phrase "Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum" once again comes to mind.

This event will have severe ramifications moving forward. There are sure to be plenty of deaths, for a start. But where did Ofglen get the explosive device? Was this a Mayday operation?

Hell hath no fury...
