The Last Train: 5 Reasons It Should Be Remade

4. The Characters

The Last Train Characters The series relies upon the intricate relationship of the characters in the group, some that are predetermined by their lives before the event whilst other are formed by their, close and essential, bond. The cast of The Last Train are very diverse in their characterisation - At the helm is Nicola Walker as Harriet Ambrose, the woman who accidentally cryogenically freezes the group. She is part of a group who knew of the oncoming disaster, her only drive is to find her boyfriend Johnathan Geddes, who may wait at the Ark. The rest of the cast are made up of Ian Hart, a policeman, Mick Sizer, a criminal foe of Hart's, Jandra Nixon, a wife who has suffered from domestic violence and has finally escaped away by boarding the train, her teenage son, Leo, who despises her for leaving his father and her daughter Anita. Along with these are Austin, a plumber, Jean, the pregnant Zoe and the businessman who has been driven insane, Colin Wallace, who could easily be played by Steve John Shepherd after his turn as Michael Moon in Eastenders. Nicola Walker could still easily reprise her role if the programme was remade otherwise there is a talented pool of British actors and actresses to take their places, just look at the likes of Southcliffe, Game of Thrones and Ripper Street.
