The Mandalorian 2.6 Review - 7 Ups And 1 Down From Chapter 14
Down...
1. Tython Looked A Little Too Earth-Like
Tython... kind of looked really boring?
Rodriguez's directing was solid, with Chapter 14 delivering some of the series' coolest action sequences to date, but Tython on the whole just didn't feel alien enough. The familiar landscape gave the entire episode a sort of fanmade feel - almost like everyone just decided to nip out of the studio to a nearby field and play Star Wars? - and it suffers a little because of it.
It's not the end of the world, and the episode still packs a wallop when it needs to, but the entire locale felt way less Star Wars-y than it probably should've done. That might be because Corvus looked so great last week, but either way it definitely felt like not as much effort was put into making this setting feel other-worldly.
Whatever the case, fans can now start looking ahead to Chapter 15, with Din and the gang gearing up to rescue Migs Mayfield so they can track Moff Gideon's cruiser. There are only two more episodes to go, but with the way things are going, the next two chapters are shaping up to be some of The Mandalorian's most pivotal yet.
