2. Chapter 3: The Sin

Deborah Chow's first episode as a director is a barn-burning delight, delivering hugely satisfying action setpieces, tons of pathos-driven affecting storytelling, and inspired character beats and payoffs that work like gangbusters.

Following the enlightening success of Chapter 2, it was absolutely stunning to see Chow building on the groundwork Famuyiwa had laid in such remarkable form. Again, the unlikely relationship between Mando and Baby Yoda is the show's most valuable asset and it is what makes this episode so incredibly compelling. Seeing Mando have to pass the point of no return, and make a choice that marks genuine change within himself, all in the name of saving Baby Yoda is delightful.

The subsequent action sequence of him storming the safehouse and murdering a whole bunch of stormtroopers is just the icing on top of the cake. And then, as if all of that wasn't enough, it also delivers the extra bonus payoff of all of the Mandalorians showing up to help save the day, jetpacks, miniguns, and all.

It is unbelievably awesome and the show at its very finest.
