4. Loth Cat

Mandalorian Darksaber

This is one of the more subtle nods in The Mandalorian, specifically to the planet at the core of Rebels.

Dave Filoni's second Star Wars animated series was focused on the Outer Rim planet of Lothal. It was the home of Ezra Bridger, a young Jedi taken in and trained by a group of rebels. Lothal has many unique animal species that factor heavily into the story and iconography displayed in the series. A key one is the Loth Cat.

When Din Djarin goes into hiding with The Child, he stops on a planet called Sorgan. It's here that he meets friend and ally Cara Dune. But as the camera scans the bar they meet in, a Loth Cat is shown under one of the tables. The nod has no bearing on the story but it serves to deepen the connection to the rest of the universe.
