The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Biggest Moments And Reveals In "The Marshal"

6. Redeeming The Sand People

The Sand People have traditionally been portrayed in a villainous light, with a decent chunk of A New Hope devoted to showing Obi-Wan Kenobi saving Luke Skywalker from them. In the prequels, they were slaughtered by Anakin Skywalker for killing his mother, but the first season of The Mandalorian went some way in changing the perception of them.

Din Djarin pointed out that Tatooine was theirs before others came to their home, and managed to gain passage from them in a peaceful manner.

Here, they're further redeemed by serving as full-blown allies to the bounty hunter and marshal (much to the latter's disgust). Ultimately, the seemingly savage creatures decide to work with the residents of Mos Pelgo to kill the Krayt Dragon and, honestly, they really don't seem that bad!

Why The Mandalorian has gone to such great lengths to redeem the Sand People and portray them in a different light remains to be seen, but it's possible the planned Obi-Wan Kenobi series also has big plans for these Tusken Raiders.
