The OA Season 2: What Does The Ending Really Mean?
5. Elodie Is Also A Dimension Traveller
Elodie is a new character who appears in Season 2 with no real explanation. She too is a dimension traveller who appears to be much more experienced than Hap and Prairie. She even has tiny robots that can perform the five moments which allows her to travel.
She fills in some missing pieces for Prairie and Hap about dimension travelling, and has likely met them before on her travels. The advice she gives to Prairie is that she should stop repressing Nina’s consciousness and allow all of her dimensional selves to integrate within one body.
She also reveals to Prairie that she’ll never be able to escape Hap, because the bond between them and Homer exists in too many dimensions. She says: “When people meet and the story between them is strong, it echoes in nearby dimensions. Events will conspire to bring these people together.” It’d be dangerous to try and break an echo of a cosmic family.
Hopefully more about who Elodie is will be revealed in Season 3. Is she Khatun, another Angel? Perhaps she’s Prairie’s real mother? Maybe she’s not really anyone and is just passing by. It’s anyone’s guess at this point.
