The Office Brooklyn Nine-Nine

The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are two of the most successful and beloved American sitcoms of the past few decades, and with over 350 episodes between them, there is plenty of laughs to be had.

Anyone who has watched both shows will certainly tell you that there are many similarities. Most obviously, there is the fact that Michael Schur played a major part in creating both, and while he wasn’t as involved in the day-to-day writing of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, his trademark humour and style still shine through occasionally.

Both sitcoms have great leading characters, Michael Scott in The Office and Jake Peralta in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Played by Steve Carell and Andy Samberg respectively, they aren’t necessarily anything alike, but the roles they have in their shows are similar in spirit. Michael is the regional manager with a terrible lack of self-awareness, and Jake is the immature, but skilled, detective. However, they both seem to be incredibly irresponsible when it comes to their finances.

They are often the butt of the jokes, but they can also come up with comedy gold just by opening their mouth and saying something unforgettable. They are both extremely quotable characters, but can you make out which one of them said what?

1. "I Ate One String Bean. It Tasted Like Fish Vomit. That Was It For Me."
