The original British sitcom, The Office started in 2001 and ran until 2003. Written by and starring Ricky Gervais, the mockumentary style comedy followed workers in an office with their attention seeking boss David Brent, played by Gervais himself. The show quickly became iconic and kick started Gervais' career, sending him into worldwide success across a variety of sitcoms and live performances.

After lasting only two seasons, it was inevitable that an American remake be made, and unlike a lot of remakes, The US Office was a huge hit.

The short first season was very similar to the UK counterpart, sporting identical plots and jokes. After this, the show took a different approach with new stories, characters, and overall tone. With this came a massive change to the main character, Michael Scott, the American version of David Brent. Played by Steve Carell, Michael Scott started life very similarly to Brent, but quickly became more light-hearted and likeable, while still retaining the fundamental character traits seen in both bosses.

With both bosses saying some rather questionable yet quotable things, can you tell the difference between the two and work out which one said the following quotes?

1. "They’ve Got To Trust Me, I'm Taking These Guys Into Battle."
