After years of seeing the boss of Dunder Mifflin Scranton absolutely HATE the Human Resources rep Toby Flenderson with a passion, it was quite incredible just exactly where Michael would find the love of his life. Watching back, many highlights of the early seasons of The Office was seeing what put down Michael would use to put Toby in his place next.

So when his replacement in the HR department Holly Flax turned up in the Goodbye Michael episode, who knew that Michael Scott’s life would forever change. Initially disliking her as his natural reaction to all things HR, by the end of the episode Michael Scott was completely infatuated.

Even Jim Halpert, probably the most romantic of all the Dunder Mifflin Scranton employees, was a denier that Michael could possibly be in love with Holly that fast. But Jim was wrong… Holly and Michal were the real thing and their relationship felt the most natural of all the romances in the series.
