The Simpsons: 10 Best Recent Episodes You Probably Missed
5. Simpsorama (Season 26, Episode 6)
While there's an argument to be made that a fully-fledged Simpsons-Futurama crossover episode should've happened years ago, "Simpsorama" still lived up to the hype more than not.
Yes, the general lack of Fry is disappointing and it's not an historic laugh riot for the standards of either series, but seeing Homer and Bender palling it up justifies the episode's existence alone.
You can certainly sense writer J. Stewart Burns struggling to do justice to so many characters within a mere 23 minutes, and all things considered it probably should've been a double-length episode like Family Guy's crossover with The Simpsons, "The Simpsons Guy."
Between that heartbreaking Seymour cameo and Bender's farewell at the end, though, it's a rare crossover episode which also pushes some unexpected emotional buttons.
Plus, in surely the series' most fascinating revelation, it confirms that aliens Kang and Kodos are actually a lesbian couple, so that's neat.
