9. Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming
From the middle of the show's heyday, this season seven episode sports most probably Bob's craziest plan ever. Threatening to blow up Springfield unless the townsfolk give up watching television.
After being angered by the latest antics of his old enemy Krusty (he does have a life outside of Bart, you know), Bob goes on a tirade against trash TV, impersonates an army colonel and steals a nuclear bomb. Needless to say, a certain pair of intrepid yellow children plan to stop him.
It might not be Bob’s greatest half-hour – we always sort of miss it when he's not exclusively going after Bart - but the episode does have fun parodying classic Cold War films such as Dr. Strangelove as well as taking jabs at society's reliance on television. Hey, it was the 90s. The internet wasn't as big back then.
