The Simpsons: 10 Best Star Wars References

May the farce be with you!

A short time ago, in a galaxy a not very far away (actually, this galaxy), The Simpsons referenced Star Wars. A lot. It should come as no surprise that one of the most iconic sci-fi franchises has been the frequent target of mockery, homage, and adulation on what is often considered the greatest animated sitcom of all time. The writers and producers of The Simpsons are clearly fans of Star Wars, but just like any other fans, they have their fair share of criticism of how the franchise has been handled over the years. Whether it be through brief mentions in jokes, or episodes nearly entirely dedicated to the topic of Star Wars, there have been literally dozens of Star Wars references over the years. In fact, The Simpsons has gone so far as to create an entire Star Wars clone within their own animated universe, Cosmic Wars. And that's despite also directly referring to Star Wars itself time and again. Some of these references hit the mark, while others fall flat, but each and every one is like a special Easter egg for Star Wars fans. With that in mind, let's take a look at ten times the show got it right.
