Is is possible to create an entire character out of an amusing laugh? The Simpsons did when they came up with one Dr. Julius Hibbert, the titular family's most trusted physician and the man who has been tasked with putting Homer back together again on numerous occasions. He's as old as the show and one of its most famous characters, too. Now, don't get the wrong idea: Dr. Hibbert is fine, but he's never really had anything more than a few moderately funny lines over the course of the entire series. And is that amusing laugh really all that hilarious anymore? Like, actually? If you were totally honest with yourself, you'd surely agree that no, it is not. Which is to say that Dr. Julius Hibbert is a one-note character who serves a purpose, but remains incredibly overrated.
