One joke. One joke for more than twenty years. Granted, it was hilarious the first time, wasn't it? "Hi, everybody!" Funny, right? But unlike some of the better-known Simpsons catchphrases ("D'oh!" to name but one), this particular utterance got old really, really quickly. Which means that for countless years Dr. Nick Riviera has been defined by a catchphrase that kind of lost its mojo after you'd heard it twice. Dr. Nick is considered to be a great and iconic Simpsons creation, of course, despite the fact that he's never been much more than a one-gag character. There's no harm in Dr. Nick, but people still tend to regard him way too highly - especially since he's offered nowhere near as many moments of comic inspiration as his cult-ish reputation would suggest.
