Though other fan favourites had reduced roles or were left out altogether e.g. Mr Burns and Sideshow Bob, when the Simpsons made it onto the big screen they brought Itchy and Scratchy with them. In fact, the destructive duo kicked off the film with one of its most laugh-out-loud scenes.
In what can be assumed to be a sequel to the first Itchy & Scratchy Movie, the Simpsons are at the cinema watching Itchy and Scratchy - in space! After Itchy leaves Scratchy on the moon to die, he becomes president... but Scratchy threatens to tell the world the truth. What follows is a tense political thriller with an exploding cat.
Just like the rest of The Simpsons Movie, it's great to see Itchy and Scratchy on a bigger scale, making for possibly the most memorable Itchy and Scratchy moment. Many may be saying the Simpsons themselves are getting too samey, but it is a tried and tested fact that funny carton violence never gets old.
