The Simpsons - All 15 Christmas Episodes Ranked
1. Miracle on Evergreen Terrace
The Simpsons returned to the festive season in season 9 with Miracle on Evergreen Terrace, the absolute best Christmas episode the show has produced to date. It'll be a hard one to ever top: it has all the best qualities of classic Simpsons. Heart. A compelling story. Laugh out loud moments.
Troy McClure voice time: you might remember this episode as the one where Bart's toy fire truck burns down the family Christmas tree and all the presents with it. Panicked, Bart claims it was a robbers and the town picks up on the story, eventually coming to the family's aid by donating a new tree, and fifteen thousand dollars.
Of course, it goes without saying that Bart's deceit is uncovered, and the family is peeved. Both Lisa and Homer do the strangling Bart gag (remember Homer's "Lisa, no! Your hands are too small!" line), and of course when the town finds out, they're livid as well - and rob the Simpson home to make up for the debt.
Common criticism of Miracle on Evergreen Terrace is that it's too similar to other episodes where Bart does something wrong and feels the pangs of a guilty conscience, but forget it - this episode stands on its own as a Christmas classic!
