Godfrey Jones represents the worst of the media, focused on entertainment and scandal, rather than truth and justice. In "Homer Badman" Homer is accused of sexual harassment and Jones apparently comes to his aid by offering him a chance to tell his story on Rock Bottom. Unfortunately it turns out to be a double cross as Jones (poorly) edits Homers interview to look like a guilty confession. He even goes as far to pretend Homer physically attacked him. Shearer voices him with a disarmingly soft husk that at first comes off as gentle and reassuring (Homer briefly believes he's speaking to God on the phone). Though it disguises the characters true nature - a liar, a crook, and a parasite for controversy. His only saving grace comes after Homer is proven innocent, when he appears on TV and admits that he was wrong about Homer - and that anyone reading his corrections has no life.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
