The evil of cigarettes personified, Jack Larson is exactly the kind of character that the show could do without. President of the Laramie Cigarette company, Larson is determined to promote his cigarettes to the public, yet is hindered by advertising law. So he resorts to sponsoring a children's beauty pageant and shamelessly uses his limited screen time to plug his product at every opportunity. In this case, there's nothing wrong with Shearers performance. He brings the right kind of shadiness to a character that was supposed to come off as creepy. Combining a smooth talking salesman tone with more than a hint of greed, Shearer creates an almost seductive voice ideal for advertising. But what makes our skin crawl is that Larson's attempting to advertise cigarettes to children and that's why he comes off as pure evil. He hasn't appeared in over twenty years and we'd be grateful if that trend continued.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
