They both have many comparisons between them such as the typical suburban family, both with two kids, a dog and a baby that often end up on their own adventures. However it is the fathers of the families, Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin, that have the most in common.
Homer and Peter are both borderline alcoholic idiots who would find it hard to rub two brain cells together between them. They are forever getting into ridiculous situations through their own actions, often at the expense of their families.
Most of the time this dumb but loveable duo get away with the things they have done due to the hilarious nature of their situations, but they have often been bad fathers, role models and people.
